FPV Guidebook ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

• Account information: When you register, we collect your email address and a display name.
• Profile avatar: The app requests camera or photo library access solely to allow you to upload a profile photo. Photos are stored securely in Supabase Storage and linked to your account.
• Bookmarks and search history: Saved for your convenience and stored securely in our database. Search history is also cached locally on your device.
• Product ratings: If you rate a product, we store your rating linked to your account.
• User-generated content: Flying spot submissions and product ratings may be visible to other users. You are responsible for ensuring submitted content does not violate applicable laws or third-party rights. We reserve the right to moderate or remove content at any time.
• Newsletter: If you opt in, your email address is passed to Mailchimp for newsletter delivery. This is voluntary and you may unsubscribe at any time via the link in each email.

Location Data

FPV Guidebook requests access to your device location solely to display your position on the flying spots map and to show local weather. Your location is never stored on our servers, shared with third parties, or used for tracking or profiling. Location access is optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time in the app Settings.

Local Storage

The app stores certain data locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This includes app preferences (theme, haptics, location settings), your search history, and your active session token. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server or third party. It is cleared when you uninstall the app.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not store your location.
• We do not collect contacts or call logs.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not display ads.
• We do not receive or store payment information. All purchases are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the app experience.
• To authenticate your account securely.
• To send optional push notifications about new guides, product updates, and app announcements (can be disabled in Settings).
• To deliver the newsletter if you have opted in.

AI-Generated Content

The Ask AI feature is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. When you submit a question, it is sent to Anthropic's servers for processing. Responses are generated automatically and may contain inaccuracies. AI responses should not be relied upon for safety-critical decisions, including compliance with local drone regulations, airspace rules, or technical specifications. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on servers in the EU. We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.

Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account remains active. You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen within the app. All associated data is permanently deleted upon account deletion. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe.

Third-Party Services

FPV Guidebook uses the following third-party services which may process personal data:

• Supabase: database and file storage, EU region (privacy policy)
• RevenueCat: in-app purchase and subscription management (privacy policy)
• Mailchimp: newsletter delivery (privacy policy)
• Anthropic (Claude): AI-powered product Q&A (privacy policy)
• Apple App Store / Google Play: payment processing

Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and data processing agreements.

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• The right to access your personal data
• The right to request correction or deletion
• The right to restrict or object to processing
• The right to data portability
• The right to withdraw consent at any time
• The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Berlin: the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information)

Age Requirement

FPV Guidebook is not intended for use by children under the age of 18. By using this app, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
