FPV Guidebook ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
FPV Guidebook requests access to your device location solely to display your position on the flying spots map and to show local weather. Your location is never stored on our servers, shared with third parties, or used for tracking or profiling. Location access is optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time in the app Settings.
The app stores certain data locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This includes app preferences (theme, haptics, location settings), your search history, and your active session token. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server or third party. It is cleared when you uninstall the app.
FPV Guidebook uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to communicate with ImmersionRC LapRF race timing hardware. Bluetooth is only activated when you initiate a connection. No personal data is transmitted over Bluetooth. Lap timing data collected during a session is stored locally on your device and is not sent to our servers.
The Ask AI feature is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. When you submit a question, it is sent to Anthropic's servers for processing. Responses are generated automatically and may contain inaccuracies. AI responses should not be relied upon for safety-critical decisions, including compliance with local drone regulations, airspace rules, or technical specifications. FPV Guidebook provides community channels and direct messaging. Messages are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted. Channel messages are visible to all users with messaging access. Direct messages are visible only to the participants.
You may report objectionable messages or block other users at any time. Blocked users cannot send you direct messages and their messages are hidden from your view. Administrators and channel moderators may delete messages that violate community guidelines.
Prohibited content includes spam, harassment, hate speech, illegal content, and any material harmful to minors. Violation of these guidelines may result in message removal or account restriction.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on servers in the EU. We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.
Account data is retained for as long as your account remains active. You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen within the app. All associated data is permanently deleted upon account deletion. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe.

FPV Guidebook is not intended for children under 16 years of age. By using this app, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old. If you are under 16, please do not use this app or submit any personal data. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
